In just 26 days since launch, MASH2 has achieved 125 registrations from households in Mount Alexander Shire and nearby. With such high levels of interest, the MASH2 community solar bulk-buy project looks set to meet its target of 150 installations by the end of December 2015.
This result is particularly encouraging given that already 1 in 4 households in the shire have solar rooftops. It shows that the benefits of ‘going solar’ – both financial and environmental – are widely understood and appreciated within our community. This is supported by the feedback on the registration forms with the majority of people are saying that they are interested in MASH2 for two main reasons – lowering their electricity bill and making a contribution towards CO2 emissions reduction.
This is very encouraging and we look forward to reporting further results shortly, said Jo Kaptein, Project Officer at the Hub Foundation.
